Day3 - Leg10 - Bots+Zim - Zambezi Crocodiles

This is the daily blog from, in particular a short series on the Botswana and Zimbabwe - Giraffe tour we attended during July 2011. Check out the plans and route for the trip here.
More South and Southern African motor cycle tours on our list of tour route summaries are available, where we explore these sorts of motorcycle tour routes. Just choose one of our events and reserve yourself a place on one of the future motorcycle adventure safari events.

The sun had almost set, but that's probably the best time, because that is when the animal rush hour begins. Many of them head back to where they spend the night and we got a chance to see this massive Crocodile casually swim back upstream to it's destination. It was massive, at least 3 or 4 metres long, possibly longer, it is difficult to tell when they are in the water.

We also saw some more Hippo's on their way home. And then as fast as it had begun, it was all over and we were off back to the jetty to dock. What a great way to spend some time looking at all the African wonders in such an awesome setting.

Seriously large mother of a Crocodile
We are still quite a few meters away but this dude is huge
Hippos watching the passing trade
Heading home across the river to vegitation on the other side
Another bunch of old Croc's
Team Giraffe Tour 2011 with a few others
