Fifth day - Blue Moon Monday beach sundowners

This continues the series of my Motorcycle Adventure travels from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth which was the first goal, over a two day period. Staying in PE at the time for a few days. Details of the whole trip here.

Having arrived in PE on Friday night, I've stayed with my brother's family until I fly to Durban the following Tuesday. On Monday evening we decided to head down to a wonderful beach called Sardinia Bay in Port Elizabeth for some wine, snacks and to enjoy the beach while watching the sunset.

As it turned out we were treated to a double whammy. Cool sunset and a huge full moon rising as the sun was setting. Here are the pictures.

Wonderful sheeplike grasses on the way there

We arrived as the sun was setting

Beautiful sandy beaches for miles and miles

Man and his dog taking a run along the beach

Our three girls take a silhouetted walk along the beach watching the sunset

...meanwhile back at theranch my brother and I start on the red wine

Sand closeup with moon in the background
The moon seemed to be getting bigger and bigger
The moon got brighter as the sky got darker
The Kids were making a ramp to sand surf over down the dune
A wonderful reflection of the moon on the sea
Good times with family and friends

  2. Great pics Charles, it was lovely to see you and be part of your Adventure, Port Elizabeth has such a lot to offer for visitors, they just need to find out where the special spots are, and for us here in PE it boils down to making the right decision and taking time out to enjoy the spaciousness we have here... Spending special times with friends and family couldn't get anymore special ...
