Karoo - Day5 Leg17 - Towards Klaarstroom

After we had eaten, we got ready to ride the 150km to Prince Albert the back way via Klaarstroom on the gravel between the mountain ranges. This is one of my personal most beautiful rides, because the gravel road is easy and the views, fauna and flora are all spectacular. One only passes about three farm houses in that distance.

We were getting a little tired however so were blasting along to get there, rather than to savour the journey. We made a few stops and one p after the beer at lunch. Here are some of the pictures below. we were also beginning to ride into the setting sun which is never easy.

This is the daily blog from Africa4Adventure.com. A short series on the Karoo Motorbike tour we took on during September 2011. See the plans for the trip blog here: Planning a 6 day 2500km route through the Karoo maximising dirt
More South and Southern African motor cycle tours on our list of tour route summaries are available, where we explore these sorts of motorcycle tour routes. Just choose one of our events and reserve yourself a place on one of the future motorcycle adventure safari events.
The last few flowers in bloom

Flowers growing everywhere, even the road - as you can see not a very busy road.
