Day 21 - Leg 7 - Rolling hills & Missed turns

This continues the series of my Motorcycle Adventure travels from Durban back to Cape Town which was the fourth goal, over what had now become quite a few weeks. Details of the "http://africa4adventure-motorbiketours.blogspot.com/2011/04/planning-lesotho-expidition.html" whole trip here.

So the original plan for the day was to drive from A=Port St. Johns to B=Queenstown. At some point in the rain and cold I took a turn that I thought was correct, but didn't check on the GPS/Sat Nav and before I realised it I was at C=somewhere near Idutywa. It only became apparent that I was on the wrong road when it ran out of tar and got very slippery and muddy very quickly around C on the map. I knew this road was tar all the way, thats when I consulted the trusty map book. I had gone too far out of my way and decided that I was not going to spend a second night in the dark and decided to head for Gonubie in East London instead. That's what I love about adventure travel - just go with the flow! Nobody was waiting for me in Queenstown anyway.

Aiming for B but hit D instead!
Note to self: Don't use a non waterproof car sat nav that lives in my pocket, get a waterproof mounted bike one instead so I know when I am going wrong! Normally I am excellent at directions but in the rain and cold I didn;t want to stop and check.

Cool place to live

I really enjoy the vibrant colours they all use on their houses

More rain again!

Not only was it raining, but the higher up you go the colder it was getting - hit about 2 degrees

I stopped on this pass to put some warmer clothes on - there was a freezing cold cross-wind blowin
