Day eight - Thursday night

Well we'd made it there and it was my first Splashy Fen again about 12 years. I'd been to quite a few of the early ones and absolutely loved it. It started back in 1990. I'd gone to about three or four in the mid 90's. I even took my daughter there when she was about three or four. Back in those days it was a lot less hectic and far less populated. In the order of 3000 to 5000 people. These days it was around the 10000 mark. Since the mid 90's I'd been living in Europe and not made it out to any of the events.

Splashy village Thursday night

When I'd last been it only had about 10 small shops that did food so there was a lot more emphasis on bring your own. This time round there was a whole tent shopping mall, one street of which you can see in the picture above. A tent shopping mall!

Comedy tent

The comedy tent was a first this year and by all accounts was reasonably good. After that we found our way into one of the music tents and watched the music until all hours. Of course a lot more happened but therre was an agreement that what goes on at Splashy stays at splashy so can't possibly tell you anymore. :-)
