One of the risks travelling on your own and after rains in these areas, is that river crossings over low level bridges can be interesting. In this case I was lucky, the water level was only about 10-12cm deep and very slow flowing, so I could even stop half way across the bridge and take some pictures.
A little further on down the road I was lucky to see a whole troupe of monkeys crossing the road, and was able to stop early enough so that the bike did not frighten them all away.On this trip I only brought my little pocket camera with me which does not have a very strong zoom so not ideal for wildlife pictures.
Stopped in the middle of the bridge with my foot on a block |
Looking upstream - this much water in semi-desert is unusual |
Looking back after making it through without getting wet |
Closer up |
Check out the Monkeys from fence on left to fence on right I make it about 19 |
One main man on the fence the rest cowering in the bush |
Spot another one in the tree on the right high up |
